Dr. Jorell Valdes
After graduating from the University of British Columbia in 2012, Dr. V spent several years practicing in Grande Prairie, Alberta. Our search for just the right associate - one with an easy-going personality as well as great clinical skills - coincided with Jorell's desire to return to this area, and we were excited to have him join our team in September, 2015. He immediately had a great rapport with patients of all ages and after several years, as the practice grew, he had the opportunity to become a partner in the company. We’re happy to have him in this ongoing role in the practice!
When he's not working, Jorell likes a plethora of activities including cooking, photography, and challenging the slopes in any season, hiking or snowboarding. He favours Earnest Ice Cream's Maple Walnut, and always enjoys the company and conversation with good friends. Jorell has been a Canucks fan for as long as he can remember, and says that was a daunting proposition while living in northern Alberta - one more good reason to be back in the greater Vancouver area!

Dr. Amro Foda
Amro grew up in Edmonton AB, where he completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Alberta. He obtained a Bachelor of Science degree with distinction in the areas of biological and physical sciences. He then attended the University of British Columbia, where he obtained his dental degree. It was during his dental school education when he decided to pursue subspecialty training in the field of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. His desire to further his education led him to New York City, where he spent 4 years developing his skills at the Montefiore Medical Center/Albert Einstein College of Medicine.
At Montefiore, Dr. Foda practiced a full scope of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery including dentoalveolar surgery (dental extractions, biopsies, alveoloplasty etc.), orthognathic surgery, dental implant reconstruction, management of maxillofacial trauma, TMJ surgery, pre- prosthetic surgery, bone graft reconstruction, and management of severe odontogenic infections. He also participated in various off- service rotations including internal medicine, general surgery, anesthesia, surgical intensive care, emergency medicine, otorhinolaryngology, and plastic surgery. He is also proficient in the safe delivery of outpatient intravenous deep sedation.
After completing his residency, he subsequently completed the National Dental Specialty Examination of Canada in his field. Although he greatly enjoyed his time in New York City, his love for Canada brought him back to the west coast. He is currently working in private practice and maintains part-time affiliations with UBCH/VGH as a surgical assistant. In his spare time, Dr. Foda enjoys travelling, playing the guitar and drums, playing soccer, snowboarding and trail biking.
